Ralph Mechur Architects was established in 1992 and focuses on affordable housing and social service projects. Ralph has served on the Santa Monica Planning Commission and is president of the Santa Monica-Malibu Education Foundation. He is a board member of Necessity Housing, a group dedicated to building housing using a straw-based panel system. His housing projects have won awards from the LA Conservancy, the CCAIA and the City Design Center, University of Illinois at Chicago. His work has been published in Progressive Architecture, Competitions and several books on affordable housing.
